To make Jeera Rice, I first turned on the stove and heated a pan thoroughly. While the pan was heating, I took one cup of rice and cleaned it with water twice. Now, we proceed as follows:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup rice (cleaned with water twice)
  • 2 tablespoons ghee
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds (jeera)
  • 1.5 cups water
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions:

  1. Heat Ghee:
    • Add ghee to the hot pan and let it melt.
  2. Add Cumin Seeds:
    • Once the ghee is hot, add the cumin seeds and let them brown slightly.
  3. Add Rice:
    • Add the cleaned rice to the pan and stir it well with the cumin seeds. Cook for about 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
  4. Add Water and Salt:
    • Add 1.5 cups of water to the pan and mix well. Add 1/2 teaspoon of salt and stir again.
  5. Cook the Rice:
    • Cover the pan and cook the rice on high heat until the water comes to a boil. Once it starts boiling, reduce the heat to low.
  6. Simmer:
    • Let the rice simmer on low heat for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, check the rice by giving it a gentle stir.
  7. Serve:
    • Once the rice is cooked, turn off the heat and transfer the jeera rice to a serving bowl.

Your delicious jeera rice is now ready to be enjoyed! Serve it hot.
