To make Jeera Rice, I first turned on the stove and heated a pan thoroughly. While the pan was heating, I took one cup of rice and cleaned it with water twice. Now, we proceed as follows:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup rice (cleaned with water twice)
- 2 tablespoons ghee
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds (jeera)
- 1.5 cups water
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions:
- Heat Ghee:
- Add ghee to the hot pan and let it melt.
- Add Cumin Seeds:
- Once the ghee is hot, add the cumin seeds and let them brown slightly.
- Add Rice:
- Add the cleaned rice to the pan and stir it well with the cumin seeds. Cook for about 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Add Water and Salt:
- Add 1.5 cups of water to the pan and mix well. Add 1/2 teaspoon of salt and stir again.
- Cook the Rice:
- Cover the pan and cook the rice on high heat until the water comes to a boil. Once it starts boiling, reduce the heat to low.
- Simmer:
- Let the rice simmer on low heat for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, check the rice by giving it a gentle stir.
- Serve:
- Once the rice is cooked, turn off the heat and transfer the jeera rice to a serving bowl.
Your delicious jeera rice is now ready to be enjoyed! Serve it hot.
