Friends, today we’re going to show you how to make restaurant-style Soya Chaap at home. So, let’s get started!
Ingredients:
- 250 grams Soya Chaap
- Refined oil or any cooking oil
- Medium-sized onions, sliced lengthwise
- Garlic cloves
- Ginger pieces
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 4-5 cloves
- Few black peppercorns
- 1 black cardamom
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1/2 tsp coriander powder
- Salt to taste
- Kasuri methi (dried fenugreek leaves)
- Garam masala
- Water
Instructions:
- Preparing Soya Chaap:
- Take 250 grams of Soya Chaap and cut it into medium-sized pieces.
- Heat a pan and add oil. Once the oil is hot, add the Soya Chaap pieces and fry them until they turn golden brown from both sides.
- Once fried, remove the Soya Chaap pieces and set them aside.
- Preparing the Paste:
- In the same pan, add sliced onions, garlic cloves, and ginger pieces. Fry them until they turn golden.
- Once done, remove them from the pan and let them cool.
- Grind the cooled onions, garlic, and ginger into a smooth paste.
- Making the Gravy:
- In the same pan, heat some more oil. Add cumin seeds, cinnamon sticks, cloves, black peppercorns, and black cardamom. Let them crackle.
- Add the prepared paste to the pan and mix well.
- Now, add 1/2 tsp turmeric powder, 1 tsp red chili powder, 1/2 tsp coriander powder, and salt to taste. Mix these spices into the paste.
- Cover and let the spices cook on low flame for a while.
- Final Steps:
- After a few minutes, check the spice mixture. Add water gradually to achieve the desired consistency of the gravy.
- Once the gravy starts boiling, add the fried Soya Chaap pieces and mix well.
- Add some crushed kasuri methi and garam masala to the gravy. Mix well and cover the pan. Let it cook on low flame for a few more minutes.
- Serving:
- Your restaurant-style Soya Chaap is now ready. Serve it hot with naan, roti, or rice.
